Most of our combinations have a safety lock, and you have to know the combination to get in.

When so loaded, or supposed to be loaded, it is habitually carried locked; that is, with the safety lock turned to the "safe."

At the command Pieces turn the safety lock fully to the right.

The safety lock is said to be at the "ready" when turned to the left, and at the "safe" when turned to the right.
